Romance+Comedy=brilliance

Well once again blockbuster DVD through the mail service was a success. I found a romantic comedy that I enjoyed. I have to admit that I really like a good romantic comedy. The good ones are awesome - the bad...Well are just chick flicks. Well the movie I watched was The President's Daughter and I liked it/not loved it but liked it. It was somewhat uneven, kinda "where are they going with this" type at the beginning but really got its legs and had a great middle to end. Loved Katie Holmes and Michael Keaton plays a great Dad/President. I won't go into to it to much - wife hasn't seen it. Oh yea - I'm man enough to admit that I watched it without the wife. Back to the movie - it was good and not some cheesy live happily ever after ending a good solid realistic ending!!
How about that extreme makeover: Home Edition on Sunday night. Good Grief people, it about kills me. Did ya see last week. The police officer who's wife got Leukemia and died at like 27. Leaving him three boys all under the age of four. Ouch it was happy/sad/depressing/joyous. It wore me out. They made them a great house and the community raised $150,000. for the family. It was greatttt. I bet Burgess even got emotional if he watched it. Well that would require him to stay up past 8pm. It would be a close call.

Best and Worst Romantic Comedies

Best
1 Notting Hill - all time greatest "just a girl looking for a boy to love her"
2. When Harry Met Sally - Love the quirks of both characters
3. The Notebook - straight rip out your heart love story
4. My best friends Wedding - gotta love the plotting of Julia Roberts
5. Pretty Woman - gotta love Julia Roberts
6. Four Weddings and a Funeral - British humor is the best but the language (40,000 F words) got it a lil lower ranking
7. Sleepless in Seattle- Tom Hanks is flat out the best actor to play everyman

Worst
1. You've Got Mail - disappointing - expectations way to high!
2. Addicted to Love - Ryan/Broderick ughhh
3. America's Sweetheart - Cusak/Julia Roberts - missed on the comedy

bonus?

Well my wife is gone shopping today so I must remember in two hours to pick up my kids. Good grief no one wants the school calling trying to find out why my boys are still up there. I'm thinking tonight I have to feed and quite possibly bath the boys andddd put them to bed. My goodness I can't just sit and watch basketball and have the night time fairie get those things done. It will be a challenge but I think that I can accomplish these things and keep my mental health about me. Maybe I should clean the house for some bonus points. That sounds like work and knowing my wife theres probably nothin dirty in the dang house. HMMMMM what can I do that gets bonus points from the wife but requires no work?

Sinus Headache?

I'm sitting here smiling because I'm pretty sure that my comment on Alyssa's blog will have her a lil angry. I was just simply trying to reach out and relate to a friend when she doesn't feel well. Comparing a "nasty lil sinus headache" to nausea from pregnancy I'm sure will endure me to all the female/mother types out there.
Good grief did I really have to take the Coed tournament that seriously? I played in goal for most of both games. I had the joy of a 50 yr. old man scoring a penalty kick on me but after that no goals were scored. I did run around a lil so I guess I got my exercise also. For some reason I decided to dive about five times so my lower back is now permantely displaced but really have kept my mouth shut with my wife's hyper extended knee. That was scary looking though!
How about Survivor! Spoiler Alert for those who have not watched the finale. You gotta love the fact that Tom won. He definately deserved it and Katie was killing me. My goodness she drove me insane - how in the world did she think she could actually win?? Oh well it was awesome to have Tom win - I did think the interview show afterwards was boringggggg. Anyways it was fun to watch the show - we had our neighbors over for the finale and had a good time. No knee injury's or no one throwing up from pregnancy so I think we're headed in the right direction!

Time to Relax

I'm in the home stretch to a weekend off!! Fun times everyone fun times. No trips to Dallas this weekend! We do have a few games with our co-ed team but after that nothin! They want me to play in goal for the games - something I swore I would never do after playing for 10 yrs. of my life. I will do it for the team I will not play very well I'm a lil older than I was in College and I'm NOT diving for the ball, but I will try. I don't think we have anything planned outside of that. Well our storage door had fallen off/ the push mower's cord snapped when I pulled it the other day/ and our yard looks like a natural grassland but other than that it should be a work free weekend.
Kelly and I have started to plan our vacation in Hawaii. The options seem to center around the water a lot - who would figure on a tropical island there would be so many water options. I'm going to be serious for a second - I am actually considering getting in the water - inside a cage - and going to look for sharks. This place puts us in a cage at the surface and we can swim to the bottom of the cage and see the sharks swim around us. That would be the ultimate adrenaline rush. Probably to much for me though. I get chills just thinking about it. Something about confronting your fears is cool. I don't know though - it might be to much for my lil heart. I know I'm coming back with an athentic hawaiin shirt - after that its pretty open. Like any good hubby I'll let my wife spend the money as long as I have a few drinks on the beach and she lets have some food I'll be happy. I'm sure she will spend enough money for the both of us. I do want to go see the Arizon monument - I could probably spend a day there.
Oh well I'm ready for the weekend - I act like its a big deal - we are in the last week here and ever student has left for the summer. My weekend has already begun. Oh Yeah I'm also on a 10 month contract so I guess I'm really close to having a lil time off. So maybe its nt the worst job to have right now!

White shirt, anyone?

Well just got back from taking A to Target to get Pokemon cards because he had to put up with getting blood drawn from his arm this morning. Fun times. I hate getting blood drawn so I bet it was no fun for him. Kelly has blogged about the needle that he accidentally pricked himself with.
Its always fun being in Dallas and having your wife tell you about it over the phone then getting off the phone and going to my next game with my team and having 1,000 thoughts running through my mind. We got crushed in that game , by the way, had nothing to do with me being distracted and everything to do with my team getting their @@@ kicked. So then we start to head home and stop at steak and shake for a quick bite. Well the waitress accidentally spills red fruit punch all over the back of my white shirt and down my shorts. I just sat there, my boys (some of my '90 boys were there) started laughing because I didn't even flinch - the day could not get much worse so why should I even move/complain. The poor waitress wanted to give me a free meal/or shake but I wasn't even eating. I was going to eat when I got home. I simply told her no thank you and went outside to see if any cars were zooming thru the parking lot to possibly run over my foot or anything remotely close to getting the day worse. I got home safely after that and had a great evening but what a day!
We did have a great Mother's Day. We went to Samuari for lunch (Japanese food) my wife loves the place then home to watch basketball while my wife spent the day "running around town". I watched the movie Closer - holy cow that movie was a lil intense. Not very good and a lot of bad/ dirty language. I mean A LOT! Decent story and Natalie Portman did a good job in it. I think Julia Roberts "mailed it in " with her part. I'm no critic of movies though. Just a simple man who loves red punch splashed oh so gently on the back of my white shirts!

My boys

Here ya go Alec and Evan:

Don't spread gossip: Whatever it is, it always comes back around to bite ya
Don't forget "yes maam/yes sir"
Don't tell the ending to movies
Don't root against the cowboys til you move out/ or you'll move out a lil quicker than expected
Don't raise your voice to your Mom
Don't forget about books - reading opens your mind
Don't assume jumping from a certain distance will be o.k.
Don't assume
Don't lie - odds are you will get caught
Don't go against the odds
Don't write a note to a girl and give it to her without sleeping on it (the thought not the note)
Don't ever tell two seperate girls at the same time you "like" them
Don't be afraid to call us if your ever out and uncomfortable
Don't pull your socks up until its back in fashion
Don't stop telling your family you love them - its never not cool
Don't promise to much - know what you can do
Don't forget to learn from experience's, good or bad
Don't assume the VCR is taping until you check
Don't assume
Don't stay inside the house all day: rain or shine
Don't be afraid to laugh or cry

Don't grow up

I love you

Jeff is awesome Gordon

I have got a new theory. The more I talk about my "dislike" for Jeff Gordon the more races that he seems to win. Rusty Wallace has wrecked in the last three races and the pretty boy Gordon has won two of three. So I am now officially congratulating Jeff Gordon on his success. You make me proud to share your name Mr. Gordon. Everytime you yell woahhh like a girl I think "theres a man who is comfy in his manhood." You are truly an inspiration to all clean cut yuppies who aspire to race amoungst the red necks. Rock on 24! Hopefully that does something to my curse. Probably not though.
Had great weekend my close friend and his wife had their baby! Cayden Glen (family name) Woodard is here! He is a healthy baby and now eating and sleeping without difficulty. I was very happy for Rob and Stacy. They are so excited. Friday I was at the hospital the whole day hanging out with Rob. Saturday was a laid back day I actually took a nap. We had a few soccer games and went out to the lake (Burney's) and had a great supper. Then played washers. Sunday we had a soccer game and got home to watch NASCAR - we all know how that went - no offense Mr. Gordon. So I sit here waiting for the next adventure to unfold in the life and times of Jeff Gordon's biggest supporter.
