Knight's Kingdom

First things first - Bobby Knight resigned. I just read a scorching commentary on how he left his team high and dry. He quit when he demands his players to fight. The idea of the criticism was somewhat accurate but I don't quite buy the whole arguement. In the realm of the General I will take him for what he said, he was "tired". This is not an ordinary job that was dome by and ordinary man. This job is not as streesful as some but in his world he made it as stressful as any. Knight pushed himself and his teams to play perfect basketball. His personality and intensity didn't take praqctices and games off. It had to be hard to push for this long and not have the energy the last year or so. Some say well its convenient that he quit right after he got to 900 wins. Sure its convenient he probably did that on purpose - so what. People have goals and things they want to achieve and he wouldn't admit it but he wasn't going to stop at 899 and I have nooo problem with that. He is not leaving his team high and dry - please. His son is taking over and you can't tell me he won't be around sometimes. Patrick has basically had a hand in everything Bob has done the last few years anyway. Anyways I'm excited for Tech's team because Patrick will be a great coach.

Watched The Kingdom last night. I really liked it. Great beginning, going over the history of the relationship between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia. It was a pretty good movie also. Its in the Syriana type class for movies. That can be uninteresting for some but good for others.

Loved the Super Bowl! for three quarters of bland football the fourth made the game. I really am happy for Eli. I have never really like Tiki Barber and his criticism of Eli at the beginning of the year irked me. It was nice for the Giants to win just because Tiki was retired and Shockey was out. Tom Coughlin was raked over the coals all year so that was nice for him to get one.
